Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka has organized and will be hosting a distance learning, non-residential workshop conducted by Eukaryotic Pathogen Database (EuPathDB), Bioinformatics Resource Center staff and leading scientists in the world together with local instructors. The lectures will be conducted and online training will be provided by international experts using virtual presentation software.

The University of Peradeniya announces the 1st International Conference on Astrobiology to be held in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This conference will provide a timely forum for scientists not only from south Asia, but from around the world who work in the interdisciplinary field of astrobiology — the study of the origin, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe — to convene and report on research findings and plan future endeavours.

The proposed National Symposium on Agriculture will address the sustainable food security activities.
