DESCRIPTION:Sri Lanka is the one of biologically divergent country in Asia. Diameter wise the country is insignificant but biodiversity perspective enormous. Subsequently it is recognized as a Biodiversity hotspot of global. Different climate and topographical conditions have given energy to this rich species diversity\, because of those assets Sri Lanka is the richest biodiversity land unit in Asia. \nSri Lanka has been identified by the environment activist group Conservation International (CI) as one of 25 biodiversity hot spots in the world. The U.S based CI identified 2180 plant species which unique to Sri Lanka. These unique plant species are the main reason for selecting Sri Lanka as a one of the top 25 biodiversity hot spots around the world. Sri Lanka’s tropical rain forest ecosystem is considered as an area which is disturbed by human activity\, but still exceptionally rich in animal and plant species found nowhere else. \nBy identifying the importance of preserving the biodiversity of the world\, the international Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) pleased to announce the 1st Annual International Conference on biodiversity in Sri Lanka. The conference will bring together leading academics\, scientist\, researchers and scholars in the domain of interest from around the world.
